The H101 Power Rankings are based on performances against other teams in the division. Games against teams from outside the division are not counted. Teams must have 8 games against 'quality' opponents (opponents with enough games that their statistics can be calculated) to recieve a ranking.

The results of the Hockey101 Power Rankings are automatically tested upon calculation. All qualifying games in the division are examined, and a test for pass/fail is made. When the team with the higher power ranking wins, it is considered a 'pass'. When the team with the lower power ranking wins, it is considered a 'fail'. Ties are ignored. This batch of rankings was tested, and the result was a pass rate of 75.77%. These power rankings include an adjustment based on a league-wide home team advantage, and this adjustment is included when testing the rankings.
