Did you know Hockey101 is a community driven site? As such, any member can post news items to the main page. If you have a news item - such as a tournament win, a new coach, or a new league - members are invited to submit them via the Hockey 101 Headlines board (in the message boards). Plus, each news item earns you 50 reputation points on the site!

As a result of this years league meetings in Naples Fl, 4 additional teams will be competing in Streetsboro OH, for the 2012 D1 Men's Championship. The new format will see the top 12 seeds receiving first round byes. This expansion will also come at a cost, for starting in either 2012 or 2013 the ACHA will no longer be hosting consolation games for Day 1 losers. The coaches also put an end to 5th year seniors playing on first year M1 teams while in Naples.

Jonathan Juliano ends a thriller at 15:46 of overtime, giving Davenport University their first ACHA Division 1 National Championship, beating two-time defending D1 champ Lindenwood 3-2 in the final. This gives the Panthers their fourth consecutive ACHA title. Senior forward Bobby Collar was named tournament MVP.
16 Teams Know the Way to San Jose

The field of 16 for the ACHA Division 2 National Championships at Sharks Ice in San Jose, CA March 15-19 has been set as the Regional Tournaments have concluded.
Pool play will take place March 15-17, the semifinal game will be played March 18, and the Championship Game Saturday March 19.

Brackets for the 2011 ACHA D3 National Championship preliminary pool play round are officially set as of 10:00pm EST on February 19, 2011.
The competition will take place March 9-12 at The Edge Ice Arena in Holland, MI.
Here is how the competition will stack up:

Team USA Finishes 6th in Turkey

The ACHA Division 1 Select Team scored their best ever finish in the Winter World University Games in Erzurum, Turkey on Saturday, losing 4-3 to Slovakia in the 5th place game.
